DESCRIPTION
Shorty Rogers / Andre Previn - “Collaboration” RCA Records LJM-1018 (Mono) from 1955. Great Jazz Album from Shorty Rogers and Andre Previn on an Original Deep Groove Black Label 5S/1S Pressing! The great band includes Bud Shank, Bob Cooper, Jimmy Giuffre, Milt Bernhart, Shelly Manne, Joe Mondragon, Curtis Counce, Al Hendrickson and Jack Marshall. While the music is top notch, this album is most sought after for it’s Inward Opening Gatefold cover featuring Jim Flora Artwork!

CONDITION

The Inward Opening Gatefold Sleeve shows some super slight ring dirtiness on the back. Otherwise it is pretty much Pristine, only the slightest little hint of softening in a couple of corners. Very solid with no splits, stains, writing, etc. I would like to call it Near Mint but since you can see that it has been used - barely - I’m going with EX to be conservative. You will be hard pressed to find a nicer cover than this. The Vinyl itself is in Glossy condition looking like it was probably only played a few times. There are some scuffs and a couple hairlines, pretty much all on the A-side and none which are serious or would cause problems. I’d say it still should rate at least VG+ overall. The labels show a few light spindle trails but are otherwise Near Mint.

Records are graded to the best of my ability to Goldmine Visual standards. If you are not familiar with this grading system (or even if you think you are!), please check it out before bidding I have summarized the important (i.e. I think everyone knows what Mint means) points below in Goldmine's words:
Very Good Plus (VG+): Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK.
Very Good (VG): Surface noise will be evident upon playing,... Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound.
I stand by my grades but would like us to be on the same page so no problems arise. I have been selling Vintage Vinyl for over twenty years on the net and I can count the returns I've had on one hand so I believe my grading is fair and accurate. One important note, I try to grade to these Goldmine guides as best as I can understand and apply them. This gives us both a written standard to go by rather than having to guess. But.... it also means that I don't issue refunds over differences of opinion in grading i.e. "That's not MY idea of a VG record!" - I don't know what your standards are and, as such, can't grade to them. I guarantee that items I sell will meet my description, nothing more or less!
