One of the very finest recordings ever done in the classical category! ~ TAS (The Absolute Sound)
This is an original Sheffield Lab Direct-to-Disk, Limited Edition Audiophile Pressing. A promo version that was manufactured as a sampler to the various vendors at the C.E.S. Convention. These were made in VERY small quantities and are quite collectable.
Sheffield are the pioneers of Direct-To-Disc recording and had much to do with the advent of the "audiophile" label put on recordings that exemplify top standards in recording, mastering and pressing. Long out of print, these original Sheffields are considered to be some of the finest recordings ever produced.
On the TAS (The Absolute Sound) List of exceptional recordings.
Album is packaged in a generic white cover that is in like new condition. Label has no spindle marks, looks shiny to the eye and plays beautifully. The only documentation for the record is on the label itself where it says that it is a "Preview Edition."
