SHADOWS Scotch On The Socks MISPRESS KILLER MOD FREAKBEAT Beat 1960s
The Shadows, The Dreams I Dream b/w Scotch On The Socks.
1966 UK Columbia Records 7" housed in company sleeve, DB 8034.
A handmade label has been added to the "Scotch" side (see photo), presumably to cover a mispressed label which is the same both sides.
One of the rarest UK Shadows issues, and a radical departure from the norm. A classic Freakbeat two-sider with loud distorted Psych/Blues guitar. Forget about synchronised stepping and think more Artwoods etc territory to get some idea of what a gem this is.
Vinyl visually a top end VG, still with a very high gloss but a few visible hairline scuffs. No deep marks or scratches however, and only very light wear around centre spindle areas.
Playback is a strong EX, very bright and clean with acceptably quiet run-ins and barely any background crackle heard. No ticks or clicks.
Labels retain a good unrubbed lustre and are free of loss or annotations etc., except for the added title label
Sleeve VG plus, free of loss, marks, tears or splits, except for evidence of touch-up to a corner area from removed sticker.
