New Philharmonia Orchestra. UK pressed Decca stereo two LP box set with insert, SET 468, earliest issue narrow band (never available as a wide band).Vinyl in super condition. Just one or two of the lightest of spider trace marks visible around the spindle areas, and vinyl surfaces are free of marks. Both vinyl and labels still have a nice as new gloss to them. Labels are clean and undefaced.
Box and insert also in superb and rarely seen near new condition. No seam splits, chipping or fraying whatsoever, and laminate gleams factory fresh.
This LP is one of a number I acquired which appears to originate from either an impeccable private collection or a reviewer's collection. It is a long time since I've had the privilege of seeing a complete collection as breathtakingly well-preserved as this one is.
All of the items appear either unplayed or played carefully and probably no more than once or twice at a push. They have been stored well.
For some reason this set was actually sealed in shrinkwap when I acquired it. I removed it to check the labels, pressing details and condition of LPs. I've never seen a Decca SET factory sealed and presume that this was added after purchase. Whatever the reason, however, the shrinkwrap has afforded the set a rarely seen pristine appearance.
This is one of the rarer and more sought after of the later SETs, and a final upgrade copy. You will not be disappointed with this one, and opening bid price is set to reflect this.
