SEBASTIAN Rays Of The Sun ORIG Canada PSYCH LP

Sebastian, Rays Of The Sun.

Engineered by Peter Tessier and orchestrated by Roger Gravel.

Superb Canadian singer songwriter Psych Loner LP. Phased vocals, electric sitar solos and fuzz guitar topped up with the haunting eight minute title track which features an intense vocal and a couple of great guitar solos.

Original circa 1969 Canada only MCA Records stereo LP, MCA-7001.

Dark blue label with black band and multi-coloured MCA logo to centre.

Vinyl in solid VG++ condition. The odd light surface/grit mark, but surfaces still have an extremely high gloss, and the labels are bright and clean and without discernible spider trace marks. There are no immediately visible marks, deep scratches or digs.

Playback is very clean. The odd instance of short lived and low volume crackle, and the occasional very soft isolated tick. No loud or consecutive ticks however, and surfaces are generally very quiet. Still provides an excellent listening experience with background noise never being great enough to provide any distraction. I have not cleaned the LP, so there can only be room for further improvement.

Sleeve is a strong EX. Shrinkwrap still in place and slit open neatly at entry side. Just marginally peeled back at top right corner. Entry side still crisp and edges and tips well preserved. No deletion clips or punches.

All in all, a very nice issue of this scarce Psych LP.

A Note On Grading:

Note that audio grading is subjective and based on sensitivity of equipment used for playback. In this instance playback has been tested on a vintage Technics Quartz Direct Drive SL1700 MKII turntable with Shure cartridge, Technics SU-C 03 amp and Technics SB-F2 Linear Phase speakers.

Also note that I generally do not clean vinyl unless so noted. Most vinyl will show improved playback quality with your preferred cleaning method, but I leave this to the prospective buyer, as controversy still surrounds the ideal method of cleaning vinyl.
