Amazingly = STILL SEALED ...never opened in 42 years!!!! While we don't have x-ray vision we have very good information that this is a very rare as never opened first pressing 1969 first pressing on the scarce lime green Capitol label it came from a collection of old sixties originals, the thick inflexible cover and overall look corresponds to a first press...
The very first GRAND FUNK and they turned a lot of heads 42 years ago with their exciting intense & tight hardrock sound, full of high wire energy, a powerful guitar trio that flashed to fame in a very short time....Okay, so they ain't exactly soft, I'll give you that.
Guitarist Mark Farner does emphasize his fuzz and distortion and plays some mean riffs throughout; bassist Mel Schacher lays on some particularly fat bass (not too fat, though) and Don Brewer bashes and crashes upon everything within sight with a heavy emphasis on the cymbals.
ON TIME, was one of the first albums to be termed "heavy metal." Sample a young and hungry Grand Funk, with highlights including "Anybody's Answer," "Into the Sun," "Time Machine," and "Are You Ready?"
Grand Funk Railroad's 1969 debut is a wild affair. The exuberant energy and power-trio theatrics that would fuel their 1970s hits are in place. "Are You Ready" is an exuberant rocker built on one of Mel Schacher's trademark walking basslines and "Into the Sun" is a clever tune that starts as a mellow mid-tempo jam before blossoming into a stomping rocker with a funked-up guitar riff. Both of these sturdy tunes appropriately became mainstays of Grand Funk Railroad's live show for many years to come. "Time Machine" is another highlight, a bluesy shuffle built on Mark Farner's wailing vocals and a catchy, stuttered guitar riff.

CONDITION: STILL SEALED...never opened in 42 years..a flat, square copy with sharp corners...two of the tips of the corners are peaking out of the shrink wrap but all mint, no problems. Never see this one SEALED/unplayed, as a 1969 first press...
