Description
Up for auction is the incredibly RARE first, and only, pressing of a PICTURE DISC promoting ELVIS COSTELLO's first two albums “MY AIM IS TRUE” and “THIS YEAR'S MODEL”. This album was released on Columbia Records and distributed by CBS Records, and is still SEALED in the original factory shrink-wrap. There were a scant 1500 copies pressed way back in 1979, and it has been out of print since. These were exclusively sent to radio stations and record stores; and were never sold to the public. The back of the jacket states “FOR PROMOTIONAL USE ONLY NOT FOR SALE”. The first side (which you can't see, 'cause it's sealed) has 6 songs from the Stiff Records classic album “MY AIM IS TRUE”, and the picture is of the pigeon-toed Elvis from that record's sleeve. The second side, visible through the die cut jacket, contains another 6 tunes from “THIS YEAR'S MODEL”.

The original die-cut sleeve is in EXCELLENT condition, as the upper left corner is pushed; but there are NO SEAM SPLITS, which is virtually unheard of. The vinyl has never been played, and is in absolute MINT condition. There is a small tear in the shrink-wrap on the back; but it remains completely SEALED. You will be hard pressed to find a better copy anywhere!!!
