Everyone's favourite nautical indie band is back with their next album, 'Everything Was Forever', a sentimental foray through hybrid electronica and guitarry twinkle, recalling everything from Sigur Ros to The Danse Society. Emotivity and post-punk energy are reconciled, as verbed-out meditations on masculinity and memory - 'Fear Eats The Soul', 'We Only Want To Make You Happy' - crop up like unwhacked moles. Meanwhile, even nods to Hacienda-ey synthpop make subtle appearances ('Folly'). It's no wonder lyrics from Sea Power's music have been pitted against excerpts from Shakespeare and Coleridge; any indie kid with a penchant for analog, reverbed balladry will love this.
