Description
SCHWUMP (BARRY SCHWAM), APHIDS IN THE HALL B/W YOU'RE A MARTIAN / HOME, ON RALPH RECORDS (RRX0776) USA 1976. This is one of the original bunch of weirdness with the hand made silk screened cover art that came out in limited editions by Ralph in the early days, along with (I can't Get No) Satisfaction and The Beatles Play The Residents and The Residents Play The Beatles, and like Santa Dog, this is one of the rarist of all The residents releases, there were only 200 released, of which, this is #183 and comes with registration card. The Residents play along with Schwump, who was thier friend and collaborator on early art projects such as Vileness Fats, and who knows, maybe he is a Resident, I mean we're all residents, aren't we????? Schwump had his own show here in Portland on KBOO FM radio, a show of which I recorded all of for the 2 or 3 years he was on, it was called, Onomonopia, I think that's how it's spelled???? Schwump loved novelty records, B-sides and just off the beaten path music, he had, or has, (he's still alive), an affinity for Christmas tunes (Santa Dog)???? The theme song for his show was, Zooma, The Santa Claus From Mars, by Barry Gordon, listeners also contributed to his show by calling in with poetry, singing, and other weird stuff, I called in many times, and recieved 4 of his Genuine Weirdo Awards, he recorded an lp for Ralph, also titled, Aphids In The hall, it was never released, but fortunately for me, he did play it on the air, it had about 12 or 13 songs on it of which 4 have surfaced briefly, it was a total masterpiece, just an incredible lp and should have been released, perhaps if we all tap our ruby slippers together, Ralph will finally release this one of a kind, great, great lp!!!!! Now, about this 45, there are 3 songs, as you can see above, The residents provided most of the music, along with Schwump and it is just great!!!! This is what Barry (Schwump) sounded like, he is an accomplished musician and a master at the jews harp, he is also a great percussionist and played trap drums among other things, I have seen him live at least twice, ( Remember Reed College Barry????) I was there, I was hidden in the shadows, but anyway, this is a once in a lifetime deal, a very, very rare record!!!!
The cover is in very good+ condition, it has yellowed a little on the edges, not very bad, it's been kept in it's plastic baggie forever, it has a few age spots on the back, these are not as bad as they look in the pics, digital cameras just tend to bring out more than is there, the vinyl is in very good+++ condition and has the original early Ralph logo, hardly ever played, still has a glossy sheen and has no marks, the registration card is like new, just a real gem all around!!!!

Grading Definitions:
Mint (M): Absolutely perfect in every way - never played, possibly sealed. (Mint grading used sparingly if at all)
Near Mint (NM or M-): Near Mint is the highest grade listed in all Goldmine guides. Many dealers won't give a grade higher than this, implying (perhaps correctly) that no record is ever truly perfect. The record shows no obvious signs of wear. Lp should look new, just purchased. No creases, folds, seam splits or visual defects.
Very Good Plus (VG +): Very Good Plus will show signs that it was played, and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it. Record surfaces may show slight signs of wear and may have scuffs or light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. (Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK) NOTE: None of my records are warped!!!!!
Very Good (VG): Many of the defects found in VG + will be more pronounced on a VG disc. Surface noise will be evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during intros and fades, but will not overpower the music otherwise. Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as with light scratches that will affect the sound. This is the lowest price grade used by Goldmine listings, no need to go any lower than Very Good (VG) I won't sell it if it's not at least Very Good!
Please remember, these are records and not cds, and even a mint copy of a record will have a minimal amount of surface noise, the more +++ after very good, the closer the record is to near mint, I don't think any record is mint unless it is still sealed, and even in that case, there are some manufacturers who have poor quality vinyl, I'll try to indicate this when I can, I won't try to rip you off, I will do my very best to give you an accurate description, and will do my very best to assist you in any way I can, I want you to have a pleasant experience and that is my main goal, so have fun, and please, ask me any questions you may have before you bid, I'll try to give you all the info I can! - THE DROOGSTER
