Up for auction is Arnold Schoenberg/Kolish String Quartet "String Quartet No. 2" LP released on Alco (ALP 1003). Remarkably rare, with some reports of only 75 copies pressed. Red vinyl grades VG+. Sleeve grades very good; there is some tearing to the back of the sleeve (please see pictures) and splits starting on the left and bottom sleeve. Front of sleeve looks great. GRADING RECORDS
I use the Goldmine grading system. The most common grades are:
Near Mint (NM) Vinyl is near perfect. At most, a light scuff appears on the record, but it should play without any noise or skips. The record sleeve should also be near perfect with only minor signs of wear.
Excellent (EX) Vinyl should still play with no skips of any kind. There can be some very minor surface scuffs, but they should not affect the sound quality. The record sleeve can have some minor wear or creases in the corners but no splits in the seams.
Very Good+ (VG+) Some surface noise, and the vinyl will show wear including surface scuffs and some light scratches. However, the record is still very listenable as there are no deep scratches that cause skips. On the cover, the corners may be slightly bent, but not broken. There may be wear to the seams but not tears or holes.
Very Good (VG) Vinyl doesn't necessarily look good, but still plays well enough. Surface noise will probably be present, including pops and clicks. At higher volume levels, the music should overpower any pops and clicks present. The cover may have seam splitting, but not complete separation of the sleeve panels from each other.
Shipping is $4.00 for Media Mail in the USA. For combined shipping, add $1.50 for each additional record (double albums are counted as two records.) Priority Mail available upon request. Records are sent in sturdy cardboard record mailers.

Canada/Mexico: $8.00 for First Class shipping. Each additional record add $2.00 (double albums are counted as two records).
Worldwide: $14.00 for First Class shipping. Each additional record add $4.00 (double albums are counted as two records).
International orders totaling $250 or more must be sent via Express Mail with signature confirmation at a flat fee of $35.00. Customs declarations will be completed accurately.
