Description

Guy Carawan, Mountain Songs and Banjo Tunes (Topic 10T24) (1958).

Very early recordings by the American singer, banjo-player and guitarist (b. 1927). This LP, not listed in the discography in his wikipedia entry, was probably recorded in England during his visit there c. 1957.

The Crawdad Song/Charlie (Weevily Wheat)/Sourwood Mountain/Ida Red/The Young Man Who Wouldn't Hoe His Corn/Who's Going to Shoe Your Pretty Little Foot/Cripple Creek [listed on label but not on jacket]//Railroad Bill/Poor Little Turtle Dove/Cindy Cindy/The Three Little Pigs/The Kentucky Moonshiner/Chilly Winds/The Kicking Mule/Whoa Buck

Condition: ex-company stock copy. Disc has a couple of faint marks on Side 1 but otherwise shows no signs of wear or damage. Jacket, protected by original cellophane wrapping, is tanned along the open edge at front and back, and a little at other edges, but is otherwise excellent. Scarce.
