Description
Hello! I usually sell 1960s and early 1970s rock/pop music - so I have to say I have absolutely no clue on this type of music at all. However, a friend has told me this is DEFINITELY a 1st Pressing, and is VERY rare indeed. Thats said, I think the bidders will decide that for themselves! Here goes:-
TITLE:- "SCOTCH" SYMPHONY ETC (Symphony Number 3 in A minor, Op 56 "Scotch" Overture "The Hebrides" Fingals Cave, Op 26).
COMPOSER:- MENDELSSOHN
ORCHESTRA:- PHILHARMONIA ORCHESTRA KARAJAN
CONDUCTOR:- OTTO KLEMPERER
LABEL:- COLUMBIA (1ST PRESS 'STEREOPHONIC' LABEL)
CAT NUMBER:- SAX 2342
LABELS:- NM (minor 'texturisation' only)
PLAYS:- LABELS SHOW 2/3 PLAYS IF THAT.
RECORD:- VG++++ (Most would grade higher. 2 or 3 VERY light scuffline traces under light ONLY - these do NOT sound!)
SOUND:- Barely ANY crackle, and NO sounding marks of ANY kind. Perhaps the odd static click is all there is to report.
INNER:- Original inner sleeve in SUPERB condition. Easily EX+.
COVER:- A really BRILLIANT example. 1 light crease in top right corner, barely ANY elsewhere AT ALL, and cover is VERY flat looking indeed. VERY shiny laminate. Back cover is beauitfully white looking with VERY nice flipbacks! I'll grade VG++++ - but I suspect most would stick an Ex grade on this one.
SUMMARY:- A clearly VERY well cared for LP, barely played, stored correctly, and seldom seen like this now!
