Description

Saturday was an obscure and short lived argentinean combo, who recorded just one album, the one you're seeing at this listing. The members of the group, musicians and singers, remains unknown. Producer seems to be Eduardo "Mayoneso" Alvaredo (Los Abuelos de la Nada, Rhein). Unfortunately, all the songs in this record are cover versions, perhaps the lowest point of this group. I'm sure these guys were able to make good own songs as well. This self titled album is from 1975, under the tiny Cabal label.
Very rare stuff and completely out of the radar, Saturday is a totally lo-fi raw funk/soul approach to some hits of the era. Recently discovered and ungoogleable. Please, check the audios, specially the outstanding raw versions of Brecker Brothers "Sneakin up behind you" and Tony Camilo's "Dynomite". Don't miss this fresh find and enjoy this very rare latin funk/soul band!
Audio clips are from the actual copy. Don't expect top sound quality, the pressing and recording quality isn't the best. The record visually is in VG+ condition, but as you can hear, there is a minimum hiss sound due to pressing quality. Cover is in VG- condition, with some details on back.
