Sand Rubies, Same/Self Titled.

The Sand Rubies evolved from an Arizona group called the Sidewinders, a name  which had to be changed because of legal difficulties with a similarly named band. They signed a deal with Mammoth Records in 1988. A showcase followed in New York, resulting in a deal with RCA. 

Due to little promotional backing from RCA, the Sand Rubies moved on to Ensign/Chrysalis during the early 1990s. Unfortunately, when EMI took over Chrysalis, the band was left out in the cold. Soon the Sand Rubies again had a new deal, this time with Atlas/PolyGram.

White label test press LP with blank unmarked labels and CHEN 22 matrix to run-outs/dead wax. Housed in plain sleeve.

Matrix Side 1: CHEN 22 A - 1U - 1 - 1 (stamped) TRANSFERMATION (etched)

Matrix Side 2: CHEN 22 B - 1U - 1 - 1 (stamped)

This LP is somewhat of a mystery. The matrix denotes a 1993 UK LP issued by Chrysalis/Ensign. However, I cannot find a trace of this LP ever having been released in the UK (or the USA for that matter). So unless there is evidence to the contrary this appears a very scarce release.

Disc is glossy and clean with just a few visible scuff marks to last track of side two which are non-sounding. Playback has been tested in entirety. There are a total of four very soft ticks, two isolated and two consecutive. Else playback is a solid EX plus to near mint throughout.
