Up for your Consideration is this 1965 Used 33-1/3 LP Jazz Album by “Sam Rivers” titled “Contours” Originally released in 1965 on Blue Note Records Inc…with a product number of BLP4206…Mono Pressing LP Vinyl: in NM+ Condition No signs of wear not one small surface mark on either side quality is superb...Paper Sleeve:  Blue Note Sleeve with 27yrs...Labels: both Side in NM Condition, blue and white, with "Blue Note Records Inc • New York USA" …Run Off or Dead Wax: "Van Gelder" in capts inscribed on both sides … Album Cover: is in NM Condition…has the shrink wrap still on it…it has a price sticker on the wrap no on the cover...it does have a tear or hole in the wrap right around his nose but it doesn't effect the Cover in the least bit...the 2 corners at the opening have little dings on them... reads Blue Note Records Inc., 43 West 61st St., New York 23… and there is stamped in blue “Audition Copy”…overall what I see is a Used 33RPM Album in NM+ Condition … I have listed a rating chart below... I inspect everything under bright spot light and state what I see, plus I have the album played for sound quality... Please look at all of the pictures since they are a part of the description also... Bit of History

After leaving Miles Davis …On Contours, his second Blue Note album, tenor saxophonist Sam Rivers fully embraced the avant-garde, but presented his music in a way that wouldn't be upsetting or confusing to hard bop loyalists. Rivers leads a quintet featuring trumpeter Freddie Hubbard, pianist Herbie Hancock, bassist Ron Carter, and drummer Joe Chambers through a set of originals that walk a fine line between probing, contemplative post-bop and densely dissonant avant-jazz. Each musician is able to play the extremes equally well while remaining sensitive to the compositional subtleties. Rarely is Contours anything less than enthralling, and it remains one of the high watermarks of the mid-'60s avant-garde movement..
