Description
Up for auction is a super rare copy of the Sam & Dave album "Soul Men" originally released in the U.S. on Stax Records (725) in 1967.

Note: This record was an original mono recording. The "original" stereo versions are not true stereo records, but rather remixes--and the sound quality of the stereo versions is not as good or authentic sounding as these original mono pressings.
Condition:
The cover is in nice condition with only light signs of wear and age. Front and back look clean, no ring wear, just some light rub top and bottom middle. Seams are strong, no splits, but the top left corner has some minor chipping and flaking (see photo). Back is nice and clean, minor rub here and there, with a couple light rub marks along top seam. A very well preserved cover, still very attractive and collectible. Grade: Very Good Plus Plus (VG++), actually better than typical VG+ copies.
The vinyl is also in very nice condition, still retains much of its original shine. Both sides generally look nice and clean, but under a strong light, there are some very faint superficial hairlines on both, along with a couple small needle marks, which do not affect the quality of the playback.
Play-Tested: When played in the recommended Mono Mode, this record sounds nice, full-bodied mono fidelity. Not much significant surface noise beyond the pressing itself, and nothing that overwhelms or distracts from the quality of the music. Generally, this is a good sounding record, not audiophile clean, but a very nice copy nonetheless. Still well preserved. Grade: Very Good Plus (VG+). Rare in this condition.
