Toronto's indie titans The Sadies return with their first album in five years, emerging out of the pandemic soup and capturing the band sounding as strong as they did back in the mid 90s, possibly even stronger. Capturing their alt-country twang in subtle but important ways, these songs seem to flow with a surety that speaks to experience and inspiration in equal measure. From the skipping lilt of 'Message To Belial' to toe-tapping road anthem 'All the Good', there's a grandiose finish on these honest and true tunes, perhaps thanks to the presence of Pietro Amato on the mixing desk, or indeed Jon Spencer on 'No One's Listening'. Whoever's responsible, this is a majestic record brimming with vitality and bite.
