SABU - PALO CONGO (Blue Note 1561) nice early deep-groove pressing with 47 West 63rd St. address and "RVG" and the ear symbol etched into the dead wax. Thick vinyl and think laminated cover - RARE. An all-time Latin Afro-Cuban classic!
"RVG" of course stands for Dr. Rudy Van Gelder, the legendary dentist-turned-recording/mastering engineer, whose name has come to denote top-quality sound.
Recorded and released in 1957. This pressing is SLIGHTLY later, manufactured sometime between 1962 and 1966 (denoted by the "INC" and the trademark "R" on the label lettering.)

COVER: conservatively graded at VG+, but displays nicely despite some corner issues (I've uploaded ten photos for details.) 1" seam split and a little bit of dirtiness at top left, 1/3" inch seam split top right at pocket opening, 1/2" seam split at bottom right at pocket opening.
About the photos: sorry, the corner detail pictures are a bit blurry, but should give some idea. Please note that the photo of the corner where it says "1561" looks like it has a tear, but it does not, it's a small extra bit of paper attached. Also, the light patch on the "S" photo is just a reflection.
The cover actually looks nicer than all this detail might suggest: the front has no ringwear, just some light rubbing and dulling to the shiny surface.

DISC: EX-. It has some fairly light lines and wispy scuffs mostly from sliding in and out of the inner sleeve (the original Blue Note inner sleeve is included, by the way) and looks like it could probably benefit from a spin on a real-deal cleaning machine such as a VPI.

International orders over $200 will be sent REGISTERED mail. There is an ADDITIONAL cost of $11.50 for this, so an LP that sells at $200 or more will have a shipping charge of $26.00 ($14.50 for first class mail and $11.50 for registration.) It is known to be a very secure (if occasionally slower) shipping method, requiring signatures from postal employees at various stops along the way, as well as your signature upon receipt of the package.

I no longer require Express mail for any destination, but it is recommended for more expensive records. Inquire about rates if interested.
