Description
(Sold as seen) Nicely preserved, copy of Roxy Music's 1973 LP release of "For Your Pleasure" .
The album is presented on the early pink rimmed Island Recording label - Catalogue number is ILPS-9232. (stereo) UK release.
This copy has the A1/B1 stampers on the play-off sections indicating an early copy.
About the album:
The Outer Gatefolding Sleeve:
Remains in its original factory issue format with no writing rips or tears, bearing only minimal signs of age related wear on account of the fact that the inner and outer sleeves are laminated which has offered some degree of protection over the years I have owned this LP.There are some minor aspects of buffering and a trace ringmark to the rear sleeve but nothing spoiling here It is in very good /very good+ condition for its age.
The Inner Sleeve:
Is the factory pressed paper based insert in white and is in very good + order.
The Vinyl:
Presents on both sides with a very good + clear glossy sheene.
Side One:
A close visual examination under bright lighting conditions reveals one or two very light in character hairline surface marks that are of no immediate concern to me, importantly, I have played this side and on my audio equipment the sound reproduction is of very good quality and faithful, kindly note though this can very from one turntable to another depending upon stylus quality and condition. As with any vinyl - even new one can detect the occasional crack and pop consistent with hard to detect surface marks or dust - particularly on quitter sections of the album and on intro's play off's, with the right cleaning cloth these can sometimes be eradicated. At no time on side one though is there any skipping, jumping or sticking.
Side Two:
Similarly, a close visual examination under bright lighting conditions of side two reveals one or two very light in character hairline surface scratches that are present on tracks one and three (one on each) these are lightly based in chracter, again, I have played side two and on my audio equipment the sound reproduction is also of very good quality and faithful, kindly note though this can very from one turntable to another depending upon stylus quality and condition. As with any vinyl - even new one can detect the occasional crack and pop consistent with hard to detect surface marks or dust - particularly on quitter sections of the album and on intro's and play-offs- with the right cleaning cloth these can sometimes be eradicated. There is though, no skipping, jumping or sticking throughout the entire duration of side two notwithstanding the marks I have mentioned.
Overall, and in my considered opinion, this album plays to a very good audio standard for its age.
The record labels are in good, clean order.
