On this album, produced by Marshall Chess and Charles Stepney, the Rotary Connection was Minnie Ripperton (sic), Bobby Simms, Jeremiah, Mitch Aliotta, John Stocklin, Kenny Vennegas and Sidney Barnes.  Although the group's prior album Peace had peaked at number 24 on the charts, the Songs album did not chart.
