Vinyl Condition: Ex+ (light scuffing marks plays so well very light sound on occasion)
Cover Condition: Ex- (you can see the light spotting/staining)
Audio: From this copy. Not enhanced.
Notes: I’ve had two other copies in 30 years. Both had the spotty covers so I think it is the result of paper quality
(although the paste on cover is of a nice glossy quality, I think there’s an issue with the paper used or
something as the other three copy I saw in a collection was also suffering from this flaw). That said, this is the best cover I’ve seen of the four.
Description: Stinging guitar, killer keys, an absolute masterpiece of the private pressing in that this is the READY FOR PRIME TIME PLAYERS before they could get signed. None of the low-fi sad recordings of a great band in a bad studio, these guys forked over the $$ and made a brilliant LP. The ballads are brilliant and never cheesy, the musicianship is fabulous, and it was hard to choose the songs I’d put on for you to hear. Did I mention that I think this thing is great?? It makes their later LPs pale in comparison although they have some very good later showings. The ballads and slower songs simply show off their musicianship and talent. This is a WOW moment. When they re-released this with a strange cover (Hooked On a Rose) they didn’t use the first track Ride The Subway.
