Description
This listing is for a rare vintage vinyl test pressing 12" single by rapper Ron J. With the electro hip hop track That Point In Time.
It was pressed by D.D.K. in the US in 1989 with catalog # RE-1961 but to the best of mine knowledge was never commercially made available.
This particular test pressing was given to the previous owner, who was a club DJ in the 80s, directly from Ron J. in 1989.

Tracklist:
A) That Point In Time (Club Mix)
B1) That Point In Time (Radio Mix)
B2) That Point In Time (Instrumental Mix)
It should also be noted that the label name, catalog #, and tracklist are not written on this particular copy's center labels. Instead the artist chose to just write the basic song title and a note to the DJ it was given to.
However on other copies of this test pressing that were made this information was written on the center labels. So based on internet research that's where the information comes from.

Record Condition:
Obvious visible signs of surface wear are present in the way of both feelable and non-feelable scratches and scuff marks.
I have personally play tested the record in full on both sides several times and surface noise is present at times.
However Side 1 featuring the Club Mix has only minor to moderate audible surface noise.
Side 2 featuring the Radio Mix & Instrumental Mix has a little bit more surface noise with one larger pop towards the end of the Instrument Mix. Although even with that one it really didn't make the needle jump much.
I was honestly expecting much more surface noise and skipping when I visually inspected the record but was pleasantly surprised when I played it on my equipment.
The vinyl still has a decent gloss to it and the center labels are clean.
There's also some light dust/dirt, so a thorough cleaning would remove that and probably brighten the sound and appearance a bit more.
Industry Grade: I would grade it as a playable VG. But depending on how conservative you are with your grading some might say it's a VG-. But given that it's still very much playable I wouldn't.
----------------------------------------------------------
The record is housed in just an old generic plain white cardboard DJ sleeve. And that is likely how it was originally given to the previous owner as well.
It did not originally come with an inner sleeve however it will ship in a modern replacement poly inner sleeve to help prevent any further scratches.
