Description

This is the ORIGINAL May 14th 1971 Spanish version of Sticky Fingers, RSR HRSS 591-01 and not the North American re-issue often found on Ebay.com. Side 1 track-listing is as in the UK version but side 2 omits Sister Morphine and includes a petulant 30 second silence as well as the kick-ass Let It Rock from the Brown Sugar single. In case you don't know the story...General Franco's authoritarian and staunchly Catholic Spain banned the overt drug-referenced Sister Morphine (but missed references in Dead Flowers) so the Stones record label sulked and included 30 seconds of silence (a la John Cage). Of course, Andy Warhol's naughty zipper cover had to go as well so a photo of desembodied female fingers emerging from a messily opened can of treacle was used to attract buyers. This image has become an icon itself and is a popular litho print. This cover is graded Excellent with very little creasing and just a small amount of laminate lift to the front left. The tongue inner has slight browning to one edge. The vinyl is graded as visually Ex/Ex and plays continuously with just a few audible pops/clicks. The plain white inner has one perforation in a top corner. There is no writing and there are no tears to the sleeves or the insert. The whole package is in excellent condition. To avoid confusion, the 1980 re-issue has the number 10C 064-063616 and has the tongue logos to the right on the yellow record labels. My copy has the correct number HRSS 591-01 (COC 59100) for the ORIGINAL 1971 issue!
