QUALITY RATINGS:
M, or MINT - No scuffs or scratches, blotches or stains, labels or writing, tears or splits. Basically brand new.
EX, or EXCELLENT - A nearly perfect record that has only been played once or twice, if at all, and a cover that shows only very slight signs of handling or wear. No surface noise.
VG+, or VERY GOOD PLUS – Obviously has only been played occasionally and has been handled by a previous owner who took extremely good care of it. Very little surface noise.
VG, or VERY GOOD - Visible signs of having been played reasonably often but by a careful owner. Occasional surface noise audible between tracks and during intro’s and fades.
G+, or GOOD PLUS – Has been played often and handled regularly but can be put onto a turntable and will play though without skipping. Surface noise but not enough to distract from record enjoyment.
G, or GOOD – Has very obviously been played a lot and handled with less than due care, but can be put onto a turntable and will play though without skipping. Obvious surface noise.
P, or POOR – Victim of abuse. The record is cracked, badly warped, and won’t play through without skipping or repeating. The LP jacket barely keeps the LP inside it.
