This item is a very rare copy of the Rolling Stones album released in 1971 entitled ‘Hot Rocks’ containing the alternate versions of ‘Brown Sugar’ and ‘Wild Horses’ that are unavailable anywhere else! This mistake pressing was soon caught after a handful were made. Trail off area of the album is stamped ‘Shelley 11-18-71. Record label and number is London Records 2PS 606/7. I play tested the two alternate versions and they are definitely different. ‘Brown Sugar’ is close to the demo version heard in the hotel room sequence of the ‘Gimme Shelter’ movie while ‘Wild Horses’ is very different from the ‘Sticky Fingers’ different with noticeable vocal reverb. Now the bad news... Records themselves are in VG- to G condition with many scuffs most which are light and records were cleaned on a Nitty Gritty Model 2.0 record cleaning machine. The two alternate tracks played through fine with no skips but do have some audio distractions in the background. Gatefold record cover is in VG condition with ringwear and wear at the bottom two corners (see photos). Inside of cover has a 1 1/2 inch tear at the spine. Original London Records inner sleeves are included. See photos for song listings. Only the second one of this version of ‘Hot Rocks‘ that I’ve seen since the album’s initial release in 1971.
