High Roller Records "The Rods are not a band for the squeamish; just turn it loud and watch the heads fly," ran the review of The Rods' fourth album 'In The Raw' in Sounds on it's release in March 1983. And the reviewer did indeed have a point. 'In The Raw' is one of The Rods' most exciting albums and one that shows what a band can do when it's released from the commercial expectations of a record label. Ten songs from this session were released as 'In The Raw', an album issued in the US by Shrapnel Records. Unfortunately at the time it wasn't licensed outside the States, so copies were not easy to come by in other territories which made this exciting gem all the more valuable. Crank it up and enjoy! Original transfer by Marcus Mossmann at PHONOGRAPHIC ARTIFACTS. Audio restoration and mastering by Patrick W. Engel at TEMPLE OF DISHARMONY in November 2020. Cutting by SST Germany on Neumann machines for optimal quality on all levels...
