Description
Hopeton Lewis, Take It Easy with the Rock Steady Beat, on Merritone 203. Super-rare original Jamaican issue of this legendary rocksteady LP would be M- but for one scratch that ticks on the final part of Side 1, Track 4 and the first part of Track 5. Cover has some light creasing and minor wear, but is also very nice overall. This is a beautiful copy of one of the great classic LPs of the genre. It rarely turns up, and often seems to be hammered when it does. Clean copies typically sell at $300+, and have gone for as much as $500.
GRADING
M- A flawless or nearly flawless record that appears to have seen little or no play.
VG+ Full gloss, some light marks. A very, very attractive record that has seen limited play and has been well cared for.
VG More marks and scratches, will have some surface noise, but still a playable record. Scratches may be fairly numerous, but will be light.
VG- Lots of marks and scratches but no gouges or major problems.
G+ and G Heavy wear and marks, plays through okay.
