Description

This is the first record by Rock Workshop, which despite its name consisted mostly of jazz players trying to muscle in on the rock music scene and in particular the interest in horn sections at the time. This is however a very good effort and well worth hearing - essentially a rock record with jazz interludes. Significant musicians include: Ray Russell (main songwriter, arranger and guitarist), Harry Beckett (trombone and flugelhorn), Bob Downes (flutes), Derek Wadsworth (trombone), Daryl Runswick (bass), Alan Rushton (drums). Vocals are mainly by Alan Greed, but Alex Harvey provides lead vocals on a couple of tracks. Incidentally, the official CD release of this LP is different in a number of ways and, in my opinion, not as good.

Tracks are:
Side 1:

  1. You To Lose
  2. Wade In The Water
  3. Primrose Hill
  4. Theme For Freedom
Side 2:
  1. Spine Cop
  2. Ice Cold
  3. Hole In Her Stocking
  4. He Looks At Me
  5. Mooncross Grove
Condition:  Vinyl is in VG++ condition, with very good shine, no scratches, no wear, no surface marks, but some spindle marks. Just occasional clicks/pops and a little surface noise mainly on side B. A nice solid feeling record.

Sleeve is VG+. Generally a little worn, with a slight crease, and a slightly worn spine. No tears or sticker marks.

Shipping in the USA will be USPS Media Mail, unless otherwise requested by the buyer. International shipping will be at cost and will vary according to the destination country.
