Description

Roberta Davis, "For The Record" (Cookhouse CHS-7328). VERY hard-to-find private label debut LP release by the great Minnesota jazz vocalist, also known for her recordings with Manfredo Fest, and for lots of live club work in New York City with Barry Harris and other heavyweights. With a great supporting cast, including Irv Williams (tenor sax), Jeff Johnson (bass) and Paul Lagos (drums). The cover is VG++/VG+. The vinyl is VG+ or better on Side 1, but just VG on Side 2 -- I play-tested it, since there looked to be some flaws on Side 2, but the funny thing was the couple scuffs didn't affect play and were apparently part of the pressing, but... the Side 2 pressing had a lot of surface noise throughout. That'll happen sometimes with micro-indie label releases -- heck, it happens sometimes with major label stuff. Play graded. Strict grading.
