Robert Wyatt – Ruth Is Stranger Than Richard 1975 UK Virgin Jazz, Folk, Rock
Robert Wyatt is an English musician. A founding member of the influential Canterbury scene bands Soft Machine and Matching Mole, he was initially a kit drummer and singer before becoming paraplegic following an accidental fall from a window in 1973, which led him to abandon band work, explore other instruments, and begin a forty-year solo career. This is his third solo studio album.
The custom printed unlaminated card sleeve would certainly conservatively grade as EX. It does show signs of handling and storage wear (minimal corner rubbing/bumping) and very little ring and edge wear. The spine is readable and the entry edge shows minimal signs of use.
The original generic black Virgin polylined inner is undamaged apart from some light creasing and graded as EX+.
The vinyl is without doubt EX+ to NM and has not been played much - if at all. The Virgin labels are unmarked with only one or two spindle marks. On play grading there was a little faint crackle on the run in on both sides but nothing substantial, maybe a rare pop or click (certainly nothing to spoil the enjoyment of the record - even at high volume), during the remainder of the album. It plays superbly with very strong audio. The surface is very clean, glossy and shiny with no noticeable marks, a superb copy that conservatively grades as EX+.
The Matrix numbers are believed to be
Matrix / Runout (Runout, Side A): V 2034 A-2U 1.1 Matrix / Runout (Runout, Side B): V 2034 B-2U G 1.1
An opportunity to acquire an album in excellent EX condition overall.
