COMMENTS:    This is yet another nice LP from a great avant garde classical collection in which nearly all LP's are VG++ to NM! Some more notes on this recording: " In 1979, experimental American composer Robert Ashley found himself dealing with a mild involuntary speech problem. Depressed and disenchanted, he began exploring the sonic implications of his condition. AUTOMATIC WRITING, composed over five years, came of Ashley's attempt at "forcing" spontaneous vocal sounds. This remarkable 46-minute piece is a mesmerizing subconscious dialogue between four distinct "characters": Ashley, intricate tape-splices of spoken French, a groaning, gurgling Polymoog, and the ribbon-fine melodious trickle of an organ. Unpredictable and endlessly fascinating, AUTOMATIC WRITING reveals music in minutiae and compelling narrative in accident.
Amid painfully intimate insinuations, Ashley has hidden the map to psychological geography aglow with a singular and utterly alien beauty. AUTOMATIC WRITING surrenders its secrets, but only with time, patience, and understanding. This reissue also includes excerpts from Ashley's earlier opera, 'That Morning After.' The phonetic dissection of "She Was A Visitor" (1967) simulates a dynamic beehive-choir effect, while the extremely unsettling "Purposeful Lady Slow Afternoon" (1968) combines a woman's graphic account of sexual encounters with webs of glimmering chimes and sighing musique concrète "commentary." All LP's are shipped using professional LP record mailers.  The LP will be removed from the jacket to avoid spine damage during shipment.  All LP's are shipped with 2 cardboard  pads for extra protection.  A poly sleeve is also included.  All boxes are stamped FRAGILE,  KEEP AWAY FROM HEAT & DO NOT BEND.  As a record collector for over 20 years and as a record seller of over 10 years, I pack with extra care.

1 LP is $4.00 for Media Mail & Delivery Confirmation.  Priority Mail is also available as Media Mail can be and is often slow.  Priority Mail is $7.50.

International Shipping

Canada : First Class International Mail (FCIM) is $7.50 for 1 LP.
UK : 1 LP is $14.00 for FCIM .
ALL OTHER COUNTRIES : Please pay $15.00 for FCIM.
