Description
Five (or 4 see note below) LPs released on the RING 'O' RECORDS Label.
You would have thought that after all the problems with Apple, the last thing Ringo (or the others) would want is another record label. But apparently not. In 1973 Ringo started started a new music publishing company, Wobble Music Ltd his own compositions were published by two other Ringo-owned companies, Startling Music Inc. and Richoroony Ltd. In 1974. Ringo launched a company called Reckongrade Ltd later renamed Pyramid Records Ltd. In 1975, Ringo announced that RING O’ RECORDS was launched and ready for business. Polydor distributed the singles and LPs produced by Ring 'O' Records until its demise around 1978. Only 4 (possibly 5) albums were released and are fairly interestig but none made the charts in any shape or form and are, therefore, quite hard to find. Here they are:
STA*RTLING MUSIC
David Hentschel
#2320 101
This is a synthesizer version of
Ringo’s RINGO album
GRAHAM BONNET
Graham Bonnet
#2320 103
Two brilliant tracks on this – “It’s All Over Now Baby Blue” and “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow” the rest is a bit disappointing for such an artist with a great rock voice.
THE WHALE
John Tavener
#2320 104
This is a different release of the version released on Apple. Ringo liked it so much he signed John Tavener twice – once to Apple and later to Ring ‘O’ Records
RESTLESS
Rab Noakes
#2320 210
Scottish singer / songwriter – interesting in bits.
HOUR GLASS
Johnny Warman
RCA PL 30052
Odd one, this – it was issued in Germany on Ring ‘O’ Records but I’ve never seen a copy. This is the German only re-issue on RCA but exactly the same album. The wording ‘Including Colour Poster’ has been crossed out. I don’t know if there is was a poster as I bought this as it is at a Beatles fair some years ago and it didn’t come with a poster.
I have played all of these records but they have been looked after so I would grade these on average as VG to VG++.
