Description

Holy Grail gospel rockabilly! As good as it gets! REV. JOE FREEMAN and wife June & Son, Jeff “Send An Angel By My Way” Spiritual Sounds LP recorded at the legendary Maggard Studio in the Virginia mountains. This is the same LP as the B&W one, issued with an alternate cover jacket.

Side One has a small isolated area of these little popcorn scribble scratches that looks like it came out in the pressing (see pic). Fortunately it only affects tracks 2, 3, and 4 the “filler” songs on this side with lite underneath the music popping. “Send An Angel By My Way” and “He’s The Man” the opening and closing tracks are not affected and play great! That mark on side 1 is a scuff and not a scratch, dnap.

Side Two has no blemishes of this nature and plays out great. “Let Me Rise” “Rise and Shine” “You Can’t Make Me Doubt It” are all amazing primal rockin’ gospel cuts! Nice gloss and clean labels, VG+ overall. Cover is intact, strong and durable heavy gauge jacket as Rite was known for- has some outer edge damage flaking/tear, see all the pics. Going to offer this one at auction, opening bid is my reserve.

Nice player- signs of a well handled record- play tested throughout on hi-end equipment- this copy plays very well- any serious collector should be pleased. See series of detailed pics to accompany my description.
