Research 1-6-12 "In Research"
This is a gem. Not much is known about this band, at least by me, but I was glad to find it in the heap of records I recently acquired. It's a great example of some forward thinking young men picking up instruments and pouring their souls in to music and making something they probably loved and not following standards or expectations. This album could have been released in any era and stood up as strong as it does now. Another one I hate to part with but I'm certainly glad they are in my musical vernacular now. If you are the winner of this auction I think you will be quite pleased when you give it a spin. Some of the stand outs for me are The Grass is Greener, Lip Smackin' Good, and Lookin' in the Toaster.
The vinyl is very good condition, shows some minor surface wear that barely effects the play at all. There are those endearing crackles and pops but no skips at all. The cover is in good shape as well, it's certainly not mint but its good considering the age. Slight dings on the corners and the edges are slightly worn. On the back cover there is a small marker streaker and a faint red "promotional copy not for sale" stamp.

I found this great review on Disccogs, this guy sums it up very well:
"The album released on Flick City, based in Sunset Blvd, Hollywood is a patchy affair with three throwaway songs. Those are 'The Grass Is Greener' a hippie lament about smoking pot, 'John' an awful load of shite about playing a guitar or reading a newspaper on (funnily enough) the toilet and 'Lookin' In The Toaster'...the least said the better.
However, the rest of the cuts on the album will sink in after a few plays. 'Omar' is a trippy psych tune probably about a drug pusher called Omar, the single 'Can You Baby' / 'Lip Smackin' Good' are excellent and I really dig the gentle & laid back hippie psych of 'The Feeling' and 'Highway Song'....the latter in particular is a keen insight into the hippie dream 'gone wrong' ....the singer tells the tale of a young kid travelling to San Francisco to the 'live the dream' only to lose all of his money, having to sell the coat off his back for an upper, then hitch-hiking his way back home in the country.."
I recently came across a very large amount of records that I will be listing for the next few months, keep checking back or message me if there is a particular psych, beach, southern, classic rock, soul, funk, blues or R and B record from the 60s to the 80's that you are looking for.
