Description
The Replacements "Stink" Twin/Tone Records 8228. 8 Songs 12" plays at 45rpm. This is a very rare 1st issue of the 3rd Replacements release. The first issue came in blank white covers that were hand stamped by the band and friends with a big rubber stamper to put the artist and title on one side and the track and recording info on the other side. This resulted in each cover being totally unique. As you can see by the photo, this cover was stamped twice and there are also some ink splatters. The back cover was just stamped once and has a little bit of smudging of the ink stamp. I saw other listings of this record with a machine printed cover stating they were original releases. They are not. This truly is. The first issue was rubber stamped with black ink, then there was a very limited second issue with rubber stamped covers in red ink, then they went to the factory printed cover which replicates the rubber stamp effect. Record is vg++(very nice, a few very very light surface/sleeve marks). Cover is vg+ ( very nice, light soiling and ringwear with a few bends by the open edge of the cover, corners and edges are nice and straight otherwise).
