Ultimate Choice featuring Finesse & TLC - How I'm Livin' / Keep It On / You Can't Front - Citi Beat 1987
One of the dopest records ever pressed to vinyl.. Paul C. Engineered and Mixed this tremendous accomplishment!! This record will DESTROY a club or party GUARANTEED.. The most meeger track on the 12" You Can't Front (uses Queens - We Will Rock You Beat) and even that is 10 times doper than most records. The sound is BLASTING (thanks to Paul C's engineering).. How the heck they got such a powerful sound 20 years ago is amazing but almost all records are pale in comparison to this.
I really really hope that whoever buys this record gives this a decent home and PLAYS it. This record will die and wither if it gathers mold on a shelf someplace.
This record gave me life and made me happy when I needed to be cheered up and hear a JAM this record made people dance and foget about day to day problems. This record was one of the FEW that I almost didn't wanna sell but I 'm hoping it will find a buyer that really appreciates it and that in itself will bring forth more joy. (I realize I sound like a lunatic saying this) but Paul C. (God rest his soul) made some dope beats and I can't imagine that while he was making them he realized that given the gift of DECENT rhyme that they would take flight and bring forth so much ILLNESS (joy) to people worldwide.
Why can't they make tunes like this today.. (better question.. why are the tunes that are dope today hidden so far underground and between the MEEGERNESS that is commercial rap?) Sorry but like the hippies that grew up in the 1960's and LOVE their memories of Rock etc.. I love my memories of the dopeness that was Old School Hip Hop... These records are historical documents to a time when a pair of $55 dollar sneakers was as scandolous as a $100,000 GRILL would be today. Anyone could be a B Boy or feel the unity of hip hop.. You didn't have to be a GAZILLIONAIRE to make the dopeness. (If you can call todays music DOPE)
No Joke
