Up for auction is the extremely rare UK 1st pressing Led Zeppelin I vinyl album with the later withdrawn turquoise print on the front cover, silver bar line at bottom with glossy laminate looking cover. The vinyl has the 1st pressing plum stereo 588171 label with 1,2,4 Superhype music and 3 Jewel on side one and 1,2,3,5 Superhype and 4 Jewel Music publishing credits on labels. Machine stamped matrix numbers in trail off areas on both sides clearly show the rare A//1 and B//2 first pressing. Upon information and belief only 2000 of these covers pressed as the Band failed to connect with the turquoise cover print….Obviously, a label tear on side one from some sticker removal. Small 1/2” tear in back cover under producer credit. Vinyl is very glossy with some minor scratches. I have not played the album but many albums I have played with minor scratches and wear do not skip. I added two photos of obvious scratches that I could see. The back cover has some blue ink print on upper left and lower right corners where shown in photos. Slightly less than 2” tear in front cover at mouth as indicated in photos. Wear and creases are obvious in photos so please use your zoom to focus in on all areas of cover, front, back and seams. Corner bumps and wear where shown with small amount of paper loss in lower front cover corner and upper right front cover. Again, study the photos carefully. I don’t see any seam splits , but there is minor separation from glue fold on bottom cover seams where the cardboard meets. Easy fix. Very flimsy cover as all 1st pressings, that I have seen, appear to be in hand. Great 1st acquisition for up and coming LED Zeppelin collectors. Judge condition for yourself from the great photos!
