Description
I'm offering the Rare Earth double album "In Concert" released in 1971 by Motown Records. It was recorded live at Jacksonville, Jacksonville Coliseum; Miami Florida Marine Stadium; Ithaca, New York Cornell University; and at The Pharmacy. Side four, track 2 was recorded at Motown Studios in Detroit. In stereo. Length: 73:43, 8 songs. Catalog #AARS-5106. In its original jacket and sleeve. It contains a 23:33 version of their signature hit "Get Ready", as well as a new studio song: "Nice To Be With You".
I've owned this since it came out and have never played it. This has been stored upright in my album rack in my home. I worked in the entertainment business here in Hollywood and got a lot of records for free. Sometimes duplicates. It's in mint condition. The jacket is in mint condition with one exception, see the gallery image of the back top left 2 white areas where the paper cover has come off. For that reason I've listed this as used, although the records are still in new condition. The sleeves inside are in mint condition. Included is a one-sided poster on cardboard measuring 11"x12". Also get a publicity photo of the band on an 8½"x11" sheet of paper. (seen below) Combine auctions and save on shipping.
Rare Earth is an American rock band from Detroit, Michigan. Rare Earth's music straddles genres and defies categorisation, slipping seamlessly between the two seemingly disparate worlds of classic rock and R&B. The band was signed to Motown's subsidiary label Rare Earth. Although not the first white band signed to Motown, Rare Earth was the first successful act signed by Motown that consisted only of white members. The group's hits from late 1970 to early 1972 were "Born to Wander" (number 17), "I Just Want to Celebrate" (number 7), and "Hey, Big Brother" (number 19). [All three included on these 2 albums.] There were no significant hits thereafter.
