Description

This is the rare mono first issue pressing of The Beatles very first album on Black and Gold Parlophone titled Please Please Me. It is the E. G. Day sleeve with the famous Angus Deaton cover photograph and Dick James credits.

The sleeve is described as follows. The front is clean with good clarity to the photograph and no damage to the lamination. The rear is generally very good except at some point a small sticker has been placed over the name of Ringo Starr and has been removed (see photo).

The spines are is good condition with general wear that you would expect for an album that is forty years old. On the bottom spine there is a wear split of 9cm. This can easily be repaired but I thought it better to leave it and give an honest description.

There is the Emitex inner sleeve which is excellent condition.

The vinyl is described as generally vg visually, there are marks and scuffs present but the sound quality is very good indeed. I have played the album on a Rega Plana turntable and the sound is quality is really loud with few hisses or clicks. I am told that loud sound quality is due to the nature of the recording of that day.

It is not a Mint LP but it would be nice one to add to a Beatles collection.
