Description
Rare BLUE NOTE 78rpm First Ever issue Black/Magenta Label - Blue Note - Shellac.
A chance to own one of the very first Blue Note records. These records are a real piece of Blue Note history and only 25 were first released of the first two Blue Note records and these were accidently printed in Black and Magenta instead of Yellow and Blue labels before the iconic Blue and White label became the norm. These in my mind would undoubtedly been handled by the great man himself Alfred Lion which gives me Goosebumps sometimes to think about it .
Recorded on 6th January 1939 and then released on the 3rd March of the same year this was the genesis of Blue Note records and its fame as a jazz label even though this one was more of a blues number.
If this record doesn't sell there will be no tears from me and I will just keep it and be grateful in many years time that I didn't sell it.
Please look at my other listings for more Blue Note records. I will post this record and it will be placed in a flight case so no chance of it being damaged though I would prefer a collection. I have more 78rpm shellac listed.
