THIS 33 rpm album is a private pressing on the AV label,the album is titled John Gilbert MEADE RIVER.Side one of this album features great guitar tracks done by Kentuckian John Gilbert on a home tape recorder.Side two runs about 22 minutes and was also done on a home tape recorder but it is his group MEADE RIVER doing original compositions with vocals,You will have no trouble finding excellent reviews of this super rare album on the internet,just put in John Gilbert MEADE RIVER.Some of the terms for this album are "basement guitar psych""basement guitar rock""dark psych""fuzz blues",it is all here.This album was made from home tapes due to the fact John Gilbert was killed in a car accident in 1971 and this album was issued as a tribute and to raise money for a Memorial Fund in 1972.In one of the tracks he sings of death making the album more than just a listening experience.Because of this album being done from a home tape recorder some of the sound quality is not the best.I am going to grade the jacket and vinyl VG+ but I feel overall the vinyl in most places is better than that.
