Here is the story as I am able to put together about this record.  Rachel And The Revolvers was a studio project of Brian Wilson (Beach Boys) and Gary Usher.  I read somewhere, that this was Brian's first commercial release of a song he had written. The boys were looking for a singer on the 45, so they ventured into the Watts neighborhood in Los Angeles and found a singer named Betty Willis. It is also believed by some people that the vocalist was actually Ginger Blake of "The Honeys".  Betty Willis was murdered at the age of 76 on  January 1, 2018 as she was sleeping in a strip mall.
"The Revo-lution" was written as a West cost response song to "The Locomotion".  It was the A Side for the release.  "Number One was released as the B side.
