Description

Hi, my name is Brian and I have been collecting vinyl for many years.

On offer  is the most desirable RCA NEON album there is, so very rarely offered up for sale. This mega rare item has come from a private collection belonging to a music journalist, who was often sent albums to be reviewed. I will list other items as time allows.

I am not and have never been a 'dealer' by profession, but I have always given honest descriptions and lots of clear photo's of any items I have sold. I do know how disappointing it is when you open that package and the item has been over sold with expressions such as "AWESOME" etc when the item is only in EX- condition or worse. If you are in anyway disappointed with an item from me you are most welcome to return it with a FULL REFUND, providing it is an honest and just mistake by myself as I believe in my descriptions.

SO HERE WE GO.......

ARTIST --RUNNING MAN

TITLE   --RUNNING MAN

LABEL --ORIGINAL UK RCA NEON

YEAR   --1972

CATALOGUE NUMBER -- NE 11 (STEREO)

MATRIX NUMBERS -- SIDE 1.  AGBS 0736-1E     SIDE 2.   AGBS 0737-1E

SLEEVE.....GATEFOLD and UN-LAMINATED. This un-laminated sleeve is in very nice condition. On the front there is no un-wanted writing, no sticker tears, no stains just some surface rub which is NOT through the surface. The back has an impression of the vinyl but is NOT worn through with 'ring wear'. There are no seam splits and the spine is fully readable. The inner gate fold is as new very smart indeed. There is minor creasing to the spine and corners and some wear at the top and bottom of the spine. The top and bottom edges have minimal storage wear NO splits. There is minor corner tip wear. EX (unusually this Neon album did not come with it's usual black inner sleeve, just a plain white sleeve in top condition)

LABELS.....There is NO unwanted writing, staining, stickers, residue or tears. There is NO spindle wear and NO spindle lines/marks on either side. The labels really do look fresh out of the shop NEW. MINT, MINT

VINYL....Both sides of this fantastic album still have their JUST PRESSED deep black shine. When you hold this album in the very brightest of lights you can see VERY LIGHT surface hair lines which were caused by removal and replacement in and out of the inner sleeve, there are no nasty marks or scratches. In normal daylight this album is N/MINT. I have played this album on my very sensitive and revealing LINN SONDEK and the sound is UN-WORN, it is full and crisp there is NO loss of sound quality at all, wonderful sound stage and stereo seperation. There are only very minor dust crackles and only in the quietest parts of the music or between tracks. Side A plays without fault and side B plays the same but for 1 small pressing fault which I used a magnifying glass to identify, it has been there since the day it was pressed and does not affect the music at all. But it does produce 3 very light clicks just as track one finished and before track 2 starts. Not a major fault but I menion it just to complete in my description. These HEAVY VINYL origional pressings are second to none. This really is a great copy that any collector would be delighted to add to their collection, a real KEEPER . Visually EX+ and even better the audio is EX+, EX+. WONDERFUL!

Released by RCA Records' Neon, The Running Man is mostly an art-rock expression, perhaps extending a bit towards jazz-rock as well. References to it are rather peculiar, from CREAM, hints of David BOWIE or Clark Hutchinson to PROCOL HARUM or BJH, something that highlights the soft, "crossover" counterpart of the music. In other words, a mixture of "catchy melodies, harsh rock singing and jazzy improvisations", of a central prog brew to which not-so-focused more minor styles or the dizzy rock sound all express cut-and-dried contrasts and loosening.
