Description

RUGGIERO RICCI – THE GLORY OF CREMONA – Brunswick AXA 4521

1963 mono recording issued on Brunswick plum/silver label catalogue number AXA 4521, entitled The Glory of Cremona. This is a fabulous recording of Ruggiero Ricci playing 15 of the world’s most historic and rare violins made between 1560 – 1744, by Stradivari, Guarneri, Amati, etc., accompanied by Leo Pommers (piano).

The disc is clean and shiny. Side 1 has no visible or audible defects. Side 2 has a light 1cm scratch which produces 3 ticks (elsewhere are 7 light random ticks). Great sound quality. The informative leaflet illustrating the violins is in pristine condition. Sleeve is excellent.
