Melbourne's Royal Headache have undergone a turbulent couple of years that have seen mercurial frontman Shogun split up his own band - seemingly in self-disgust - despite the fact that they had caused a near-riot at Sydney's Vivid Festival. Yet thankfully he's not only come to his senses but helped deliver a record that sees their heart-on-sleeve, boisterous and soulful attack in full flight. With his vocals in the forefront more than on their debut, and memorable songs to boot, they've never sounded better. Raw and ragged yet deliriously melodious, 'High' is the sound of confusion transfused into joy, and a freewheeling modern punk gem.
