Description: Ernest Ansermet conducts The Royal Opera House Orchestra Covent Garden in Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake Nutcracker Sleeping Beauty, Chopin's Sylphides, Adam's Giselle, Delibes' Coppelia, Rossini's Boutique Fantasque, and Schumann's Carnaval. This is an extremely rare and highly sought after set. It has sold for over $1,000 on Ebay. Modest opening price. Super super sound. And the classic reissue is on the Absolute Sound Super Disc List. It has nothing on this original. And this is a fabulous all 1S pressing!!!

I am always looking to purchase quality classical record collections, the bigger the better. If you have a collection to sell or know someone else who does feel free to contact me.

In order to serve my customers better I would like to ask for feedback as to the preferred time to have my auctions end. I realize there are different time zones but I would be interested in receiving emails as to the best day and/or the best time of day you would like to have an auction end. Please include your country and/or time zone. Thanks.

RECORD GRADES: SEALED: Sealed. As collectors know, not necessarily a guarantee of condition. MINT: Not used as a grade by me. MINT MINUS (MINT-): Rarely used, and only for a super, super clean looking and sounding record. NEAR MINT (NM): A record that is almost mint; does not have any visual flaws and audio flaws would be an isolated very slight tick. NEAR MINT- (NM-): A record with a very minimal extremely slight flaw, particularly an inaudible one such as a scuff or shallow mark that does not sound. An audible flaw would be a slight very occasional mild tick. VERY GOOD PLUS PLUS (VG++): A record that may have some slight flaw or two very slight flaws: Very light background noise heard in low sound level parts of the music, occasional light ticks , a very few repeating light clicks, etc. VERY GOOD PLUS (VG+): Same flaws as VG++ but more pronounced. Still does not interfere with the enjoyment of the music for many if not most people. VERY GOOD (VG): Background noise that can be heard during all but the louder passages, scratches that cause repeated mild and moderate ticks. May start to interfere with the enjoyment of the music. I rarely sell records with this grade unless they are rare and have some redeeming value.

I try to grade records fairly and conservatively. In general I will try to mention specific defects. Variation exists in playback systems and even in the ears of listeners, as well as in some pressings where some labels are known to have noisy surfaces. Old mono records and even new records made from old (78) records or tape also have inherent noise in them. My system is a Linn LP12-Lingo phono/ Graham 2.2 tonearm/Van den Hull Frog cartridge with Standard Exposure amp-preamp and Thiel speakers. My system is very transparent and reveals a lot of detail in the music which can include surface noise. A friend of mine who also has a Linn LP12 with Krell amps and Linn tonearm and cartridge routinely grades my records a half to full grade higher than I do. And they actually do sound different (better?) on his system. Please check my feedback and you will see customers who are happy with the quality and description of the records purchased. I try to be as honest as I can when I grade records. I am only human and cannot fully play both sides of the records I sell. I do spot-check almost all of the records I sell. Therefore I do offer full refunds within reason, less shipping charges, of course.

Shipping:

Please check out my other auctions. I will combine shipping charges for multiple purchases.

All USA buyers will have packages shipped Media Mail-$4 for the first LP and $1 more per additional LP- with Delivery Confirmation for tracking purposes.

All International customers, especially buyers who pay with paypal, must have package shipped with tracking and/or insurance. Air Parcel Post has recently begun including basic insurance-$62.84 and up depending on the weight of the package-for no additional charge. This makes Air Parcel my first choice. However if you want faster delivery-say Global Express Mail let me know. This combination of tracking and/or insurance is especially necessary for Paypal buyers who are automatically covered under the Paypal buyer protection plan. According to Paypal’s buyer protection plan if the package gets lost and I the seller cannot prove you received the package via tracking then Paypal will reimburse the buyer 100% from the seller’s account. This happened to me after a seller specifically requested economy shipping without tracking or insurance. Therefore the insurance requirement.

Please note that if you request economy (surface) shipping via surface letter or surface parcel there is no tracking available and insurance is available to many but not all countries. If you want to ship economy mail to a country that does not have insurance available and you pay with paypal you cannot legally waive the paypal buyer protection coverage. No matter what assurances you give me that you will not hold me responsible for the mail you still have recourse with paypal. Nevertheless on a case by case basis, after examining feedback records or in consideration of prior purchases, I may agree to ship economy mail without tracking or insurance. It is only at my discretion. If you have any questions consult with me prior to bidding. And if you think you should have a means of officially waiving your Paypal coverage please petition paypal to make it possible.
