THE CROWD b/w MAMA
HISTORY:
This item has been in my possession for approximately 25 years. When I acquired this piece, it was housed in the same generic type sleeve pictured above. “MONUMENT 461” is handwritten at the top of the sleeve and “TEST 5-8-62 DASH 2” is handwritten just below it.
On one side of the disc, there is a small typewritten title strip which identifies the title as; THE CROWD; the artist as; ROY ORBISON and the label and catalog number as; MONUMENT #461. This identifying sticker has become yellow with age (see picture) but is still affixed securely to the vinyl. There is no such identifying sticker on the flip side (MAMA).
DEAD WAX:
On THE CROWD side: “MO 814-2” and “T-1” are hand etched in the run-off.
On the reverse side: “MO 815-2” and “T-1” are hand etched in the run-off.
I have compared this disc to a stock copy of the same title and the markings are identical; except there is NO “T-1” on the stock copy.
CONDITION
Visually the disc is VG+ with some light handling marks.
