I am parting with some of my treasured LPs. Here's an incredible MONO copy of Roy ORBISON' Sings Lonely and Blue. It was his first studio LP from Monument records, released in 1961. After leaving Sun, where he recorded 78's, he followed the path of Elvis to RCA records. It was a very brief stint there, and before anyone knew what was happening, Roy was making this LP at Monument.
The LP cover is in beautiful condition, with no damage to the seams or the spine. The corners are all in great shape, and the cover is in a s amazing shape as one could expect from an LP from 1961. The back cover shows slight ringwear, but it is very minimal. The record plays very well with no skips or jumps. There's small background crackling that is minimal. There are overall hairline whips and small rub marks on the LP. The label is clean, but with marks around the spindle, showing that this record was loved, and well played.
A very rare LP to have, and a beautiful period cover to boot. A great opportunity to grab this LP. A total classic rarity that will shine in any collection. With Orbison classics Hurtin', Blue Angel, and Only The Lonely... Songs that would be trademarks for Roy for the rest of his career. This is a very nice example of this original press LP, and not an easy record to come by.
I love original original pressings because I feel every LP is of it's time and place. The vinyl, and record pressings are all from that moment in time, and no re-pressing or re-mastering will ever make the sound better for me.
