"Basic Musical Library: Radio Transcription Disc produced by The Armed Forces Radio Service. This disc was issued to radio stations for broadcast only and not available to the general public, very rare!
Disc is World War Two era, circa 1940's
Basic Musical Library program W-21 featuring Roy Acuff & His Smoky Mountain Boys. Songs include "We Live In Two Different Worlds", "I Walk Alone", "Hang My Head And Cry", "It's Too Late To Worry Anymore", "My Home In San Antone". All songs include vocals
Basic Musical Library program W-22 featuring The Riders Of The Purple Sage. Songs Include "Cool Waters", "I'll Never Let You Go Little Darling", "Followin' The Sun All Day", "Goin' Back To Texas". All songs include vocals

W-21: Roy Acuff and His Smoky Mountain Boys- The Star: Roy "The King of Country Music" Acuff
- The Unidentified/Emerging Star: Chet Atkins. Although his name rarely made the initial broadcast label or catalog credits, the young Atkins was working as a guitarist and fiddler for Acuff during this mid-1940s window. Hearing early, lightning-fast Atkins flatpicking and fingerstyle work within Acuff's traditional string band is a major treat for country music historians.
- The Unidentified/Emerging Star: Jimmy Pruett. The group's pianist and accordionist was also a remarkably gifted, uncredited pedal steel player and honky-tonk pianist who left a major footprint on western swing and country.
Disc is in Excellent- condition with Excellent- sound, beautiful disc
