A SUPERB COPY OF ROXY'S ICONIC DEBUT - STUNNING LP - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Falling halfway between musical primitivism and art rock ambition, Roxy Music's eponymous debut remains a startling redefinition of rock's boundaries.
Simultaneously embracing kitschy glamour and avant-pop, Roxy Music shimmers with seductive style and pulsates with disturbing synthetic textures.
Although no musician demonstrates much technical skill at this point, they are driven by boundless imagination -- Brian Eno's synthesized "treatments" exploit electronic instruments as electronics, instead of trying to shoehorn them into conventional acoustic patterns. Similarly, Bryan Ferry finds that his vampiric croon is at its most effective when it twists conventional melodies, Phil Manzanera's guitar is terse and unpredictable, while Andy Mackay's saxophone subverts rock & roll clichés by alternating R&B honking with atonal flourishes.
But what makes Roxy Music such a confident, astonishing debut is how these primitive avant-garde tendencies are married to full-fledged songs. That was the trick that elevated Roxy Music from an art school project to the most adventurous rock band of the early '70s.

LABELS: The labels are CLEAN and BRIGHT with NO unwanted marks/writing and only a couple of light spindle traces. THIS COPY HAS SEEN LIGHT PLAY ONLY
VINYL Visual: The vinyl still retains its original DEEP, GLOSSY SHEEN. The surfaces are practically UNMARKED and shine LIKE-NEW
VINYL Audio: CRYSTAL CLEAR, DEEP, RICH, VIBRANT SOUND, graded at a loud volume. There are NO scratches, NO sticks, NO jumps, and only the very quiet sections of 'The BOB' play with some light background surface noise/crackle (but I have rarely heard an original pressing which doesn't and it's nothing I would consider too major). The audio has GREAT DEPTH AND CLARITY - TREMENDOUSLY CLEAR AND SHARP and the LP sounds STUNNING playing to a high standard with NO groove-wear or distortion (it has not been played that much at all) and critically graded EXCELLENT to (+) for audio - FANTASTIC LP
SLEEVE: The CHIC gatefold cover is in EXCELLENT condition. The surfaces have a DEEP, DEEP, GLOSSY SHEEN with only a couple of small dents/marks to the laminate and the edges and SHARP and FRESH with little wear to speak of, just a little age-related discolouration to the opening edge. The spine is straight and true with NO creases and all text CLEAR and BOLD. A BEAUTIFUL GLAMOROUS SLEEVE
The Pale Blue Island inner is EXCELLENT+ with NO splits, just some light handling creases
